Weekend tours travel back in time!

Once each month, tours are offered for those seeking an experience in history.

Tours held on the third Saturday of each month are accompanied by volunteers dressed in period clothing. Designed to give visitors a glimpse of the challenging and often lonely vigil of the light keepers, these tours focus on the history and technology of aids to navigation at this site. All tour guides welcome your questions.

The tours are hosted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) with assistance from nearby Hearst Castle San Simeon State Historical Monument . Reservations can be made by contacting the National Geographic Theater, located at the Hearst Castle visitor center at 805-927-6811, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tours originate at the Hearst Castle State Historic Monument Visitor Center, 750 Hearst Castle Road in San Simeon.

Prices for the tours are $15 for adults. Children under 16 are admitted for free.
