Judy Lyon has lived on the central California coast since 1976, Cambria since 1981, and paints regularly with a group of area plein air painters. She has worked with numerous conservation groups in documenting endangered areas with her paintings, and has donated many hours to these causes.
Judy is primarily a watercolorist, and is presently First Vice President of the National Watercolor Society. In addition to documenting the Piedras Blancas Light Station site with her paintings, she occasionally assists in repainting the interiors of the structures there: "I like paint."
The massive Piedras Blancas Light Station scrapbooks are peppered with Judy's ink drawings of the flora and fauna specific to the site.
Judy considers it an honor to be among the volunteers at Piedras Blancas Light Station.
